This mod is aiming to add a HUD (Actually HMD) to the Chinook by Miltech.
I have used the Asobo F/A-18E HUD as a Base.
Changes to the Default HUD are:
- Color changed to RED
- Added GS and RA readouts
I will be cleaning up the files progressively and throwing out parts which arent needed, just wanted to release it as soon as possible because some people already asked me for it ;)
Also this is not a drop-in mod, some file Edits are required (do a Backup please), so if you are afraid to edit .cfg and .xml files, then please ask for help ;)
Installation:
1. Unzip the contents of the Package to:
\Community\miltechsimulations-ch47d\html_ui\
2. Open Following file in Notepad:
\Community\miltechsimulations-ch47d\SimObjects\Airplanes\MiltechSimulations_CH47D\panel\panel.cfg
3. Add Following Lines to panel.cfg just Behind the Block of Text starting with Vcockpit05 (Refer to screenshots):
[Vcockpit06]
size_mm=1024,1240
pixel_size= 1024,1240
texture=HUD
render_on_screen=0.5,0.29,0.5,0.45,0.5,0.5,1,1
htmlgauge00=CH47/CH47ACC/DDI/CH47ACC_DDI.html?Index=4, 0,0,0,0,1024,1240
4. Open Following file in Notepad:
\Community\miltechsimulations-ch47d\SimObjects\Airplanes\MiltechSimulations_CH47D\panel\panel.xml
5. Add following lines After the "Aera" Instrument definition (Refer to screenshot):
<Instrument>
<Name>AS04F_DDI_4</Name>
<Electric>
<Simvar name="CIRCUIT AVIONICS ON" unit="Boolean"/>
</Electric>
<HighlightBackgroundOpacity>0.45</HighlightBackgroundOpacity>
</Instrument>
6. Restart your Sim and load up the Chinook
DISCLAIMER:
Currently the Displays will be ALWAYS Rendering on screen while in cockpit view (it's an HMD, not a HUD), no matter where you look, you will see it in front of your eyes.
If you wish to be able to turn it on and off change "CIRCUIT AVIONICS ON" to some other control, for instance "LIGHT WING" and bind it to your Controller

Just a "heads-up": If you installed the CH-47D using Contrail, when there's an update, it deletes the original folder and reinstalls it from scratch. Therefore, this will be deleted with it and have to be reinstalled each time the Chinook gets an update (through Contrail).
