To bring even more variety into the beautiful H135 Mod by Hype Performance Group I decided to create some alternative exterior lighting for the 135.
This Package contains 4 seperate styles:
- Classic flashing strobe lights: You already have them on the default Mod but this corrects the rate of the strobe lights plus the time they emit so it looks like a classic flashing strobe light and closer to reality. The Beacon light went to a non-LED flashing beacon again as well. You may need to turn the strobes on and off 2-3 times till the correct pattern is being achieved.
- Full LED Style: Kinda self-explanatory I think. You now have LED strobes instead of the ones on the default H135.
You might want to leave them turned off during Night-Ops though (just like some RL pilots do when using night-vision for example - so an unintentional "as real as it gets" here) because it may will annoy you in the cockpit.
- H145 Style Beacon + Strobe: On newer models of the H145 the strobe lights got removed from the fuselage (see the reason for that above) and now you have the Beacon and strobe light in the same housing on the tail fin.
In real life they obviously can be triggered seperately (so only beacon light, only strobe, or both) but due to my foolishness I haven't found a way to get that right because they blink in a given pattern no matter when you switch the second light on in real life. So for example Beacon __ Strobe __ Beacon. But if you would hit one switch at the wrong time in the sim you would get something like a Beacon_Strobe______Beacon pattern (the _ being the gap between the lights flashing) or even at almost the same time which looks totally stupid. This is why my effects file is triggered by the Anti Collision light-switch only and you will always get the red-white-red pattern. The strobe light switch doesn't do anything then.
-US Style 4x flash: Some operators of the H135/EC135 (mainly in the US) have a complete different exterior lighting. Instead of having the strobe lights mounted on the fuselage, they're mounted on the horizontal stabilizer instead. But not only this being the difference. Instead of a single flash strobe light they commonly have quadruple flashing strobe lights.
I attached a few short clips so you can get an idea of the changes I made:
Classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUCsKRcGsHU
Full LED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIW-W5UKarY
H145 Style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR3_UmaCtPE
US Style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7EVrGjWeUk
Installation: Open the ZIP-File, choose the folder with the option you want, go to the "hpg-airbus-h135" folder inside the community folder, open the effects folder and overwrite the files with the files you want to add.
For the US Style 4x flash variant you additionally need to overwrite the systems.cfg with the provided one.
For that you need to go to Community/hpg-airbus-h135/Simobjects/Airplanes/H-135 DEV SERIES PROJECT and place the systems.cfg there in order to overwrite the existing one.
Make sure to create a back-up (or download the H135 mod again) if you wanna switch back to default lighting.

I noticed that after the season 5 update, the lights seem to have reverted back to the original configuration. Probably not an incompatibility, but only needs to be reinstalled. Hopefully the lighting mod just got rewritten when HYPE updated the H135 for the new software.

Of course you have to install the alternative lighting every time you update the H135 mod because then the alternative lighting is getting replaced with the default lighting of the H135 mod...
