Whittier Airport (ICAO: PAWR, FAA LID: IEM) is a state-owned public-use airport located one nautical mile (1.85 km) northwest of the central business district of Whittier, a city in the Valdez-Cordova Census Area of the U.S. state of Alaska. The airport is situated on the northeast shore of the Kenai Peninsula. The town of Whittier is notable for the fact that almost all of its residents live in the Begich Towers Condominium, earning it the nickname of a "town under one roof".
This mod attempts to accurately depict the airport as it actually is, based on information gathered from Google and Bing Maps, and the many photos taken of the area. I also revamped the nearby City of Whittier Campground. I also discovered a number of sources (with photos) which show a large vessel beached near the runway, so I included a properly-sized ship in that spot. I'm sure that it's no longer there in real life, but I thought it'd be fun to include here.
Both takeoffs and landings here are a lot of fun. Here is the description from AirNav: FOR TKOF USE RY 04 ONLY; FIRST 130 FT OF RY 04 UNUSBL. PILE OF LARGE ROCKS LCTD APCH END RY 04. FOR LDGS USE RY 22 ONLY; GO AROUND UNLIKELY.

I highly suggest you get this Marinas mod. It will affect much more than just the town of Whittier, and it makes a noteworthy difference in my flying experience.
I hope you enjoy the mod!

Thank You!
The town of Whittier is rather unique. The only way to get there by road, is through a long one-way tunnel. Almost the entire population lives in the same high rise apartment building. Cozy.
