Presenting the DC-3 in the classic colours of Dan Air. This livery depicts Dan Air's first livery as it appeared on the airline's first registered aircraft, G-AMSU. G-AMSU is also available in the livery it would subnsequently sport for most of its service with Dan Air here. G-AMSU was a modified C-47 Dakota built in 1944 for the US army. After subsequent conversion to civilian use, it entered service with Dan Air in May 1953 and operated with the airline until 1968 before being scrapped in 1972. While the airframe was scrapped in 1972, another Dan Air DC-3, G-AMPP, would take over the registration (as well as G-AMSU's starboard wing) as was kept on in non flying condition stationed at the Dan Air engineer's headquarters. After bouncing around between Euro Disney and several air museums it was burned in the 2000s as part of a film about the Berlin Airlift.
This download includes both a Classic and Retrofit option. When you hit the download button, the main file will be the Classic cockpit, while the Retrofit will be the second option. You can download and have both options working and available in the sim if you want.
This was made especially for Dan Air Virtual who provide VA routes for a number of old and defunct European airlines.
