Marinas is a global scenery that place static boats and piers in marinas, sea, lakes and rivers, covering entire countries, data driven by Open Street Map Data Basic

Actual coverage includes: North America (Canada and USA) Central America (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua) All the Carribeans (Cuba, Bahamas, Jamaica, Haiti, Republica Dominicana, porto Rico, Guadalupa, Dominica, Antigua and so on ) Western Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Great Britain and Ireland, Suisse, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Austria) Eastern Europe (balkans region) Northern Europe (Danmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) Australia and New Zealand



While most of the time the algorithm works fine, this package cannot be better than manually created scenery ( like other boats packages: Project Costline-Italy, Vessels by SeaFront Simulation or Sunken Boats by Bjian)

The purpose of this addon is to provide a GLOBAL coverage

The package is gonna be loaded in the sim hierarchy at low level, so any other package more advanced/manually created will be able to exclude mine in their area



- boat piers in the coutries included in the coverage 

- boats surrounding the piers

- 30ish new boats models

- random  static  boats placed nearby marinas (the marinas are defined by leisure=marina tag in Open Street Map)


Per se, this package shouldn't have any big compatiblity issue with other boats packages,

of course if an Airport Package has created a Marina in the vicinity of the Airport, or you have specific boats packages in the area, they will overlap. Is up to the other devs sharing compatibility patches (i can created those for them, but I need their scenes to work with)



- The placing algorithm for piers and static boats rely on piers drawn as LINES, piers drawn as polygon are likely to have uncorrect implementation. If there is someone that can create the centerline of those polygons, will be much appreciated!

- Boats are placed in every pier according that the "mooring" tag in Open Street Map is not "no" or "commercial/industrial". Open Street Map has great potential, but requires the data to be complete in order to grant the maximum possible realism. I encourage you to explore the Open Street Map world and add as much data as possible in the places you are familiar with!

- sometimes you can see boats that can't really fit or maneuver in that pier, I'm working on that!



Unzip in community and fly everywehere theres a marina, you gonna see boats!

The package as been compiled with SU10 latest beta, should work in SU9 without issues



All the boat models in this package come from freely availble sources on the internet 

Most of them are thanks to superspud library, I have further optimized them to obtain the required lods for bulk placement

Is there any chance you can reduce the number of boats at the docks to provide better docking room for seaplanes to park at. Thanks again, outstanding

This mod worked fine for me until SU11 but now in certain areas, such as Chicago or LA for example, after about 10 15 minutes of flying low and slow in standard aircraft GPU frame timings suddenly go crazy from 10 to 40,50,60 totally destroying fps and with associated stutter.

It stays this way until returning to main menu and restarting flight, rinse repeat.

If I remove the add on and delete it from the dat files the sim functions normally again.

Adding it back reintroduces the issue.

Are boats missing from marinas for anybody else since SU11?

Thanks for the great mod but i noticed photogrammetry areas with Marinas do not have these boats there, perhaps the PG excludes them or has higher priority? Thanks!

I love your job. All of your mods add a lot of realism and immersion to the simulator.
Unfortunately Marinas in particular gives my system severe stutters in some places. Seattle for example.
I did a lot of testing disabling other mods but no luck.
Thank you for putting in so much selfless effort.

very good idea to write a script to autogenerate scenery objects in an XML file that can be compiled by the MSFS SDK to a scenery package

Do you think you can do the same to add light poles to all international airports and maybe all regional airports

autogen airports are too dark on ramps and aprons during night

instead of adding light to every airports manually, it can be done a lot faster if the Sim itself adds just one more parameters to the AI Generated default airports. By adding a single Light pole and lights on a specific parking type:

GA Ramp Small = No Light

GA Ramp Medium = No Light

GA Ramp Large = Light

Gate Small = Light

Gate Medium = Light

Gate Heavy = Light

If this logic applies to every parking type template, the AI could just generate lights at the entire default airports around the world in one go, since it will only load the parking spots for those aircrafts, and since the parking spot template is specified to load the single light pole with lights, then there would be lights at every airports or at least big ones

a solution would be to make a batch file or a script file to add a floodlight object to every parking spot so that in can be easily apply as a batch to all AI-generated airports as the parking spot objects are pretty much standardised across all of it without updating them one by one. (at least for all major and medium airport or regional airport)

    - added new countries: South America sub continent, missing caribbean Islands, Danmark, Turkey, Cyprus

    FIXES requested by the community:

    - remove boats along airports approach lights (hopefully everyone)
    - cleaned boats on industrial/commercial areas
    - removed boats from lot of "no-piers" like oil&gas tankers structure
    - manual pass to remove boats from main industrial harbours
