NOTAM #2:

Version 3.3 - Animated Arrestor wires have been installed so you will need to hook a wire with the tail hook to stop the plane on the flight deck. You MUST install the latest release of the F/A 18E Super Warrior for correct operation of the animations - V6 or higher.

I would recommend watching this video for the correct approach procedure.

Introduction

The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) is positioned just off the coast near the Wallop Flight Facility (KWAL) and is ready to launch you and the FA/18E Super Warrior on the ride of your life! After your flight you can return to the carrier and land (put the hook down) IF you can catch a wire.

This mod provides a fully functioning deck crew trained to launch you and the F/A-18E Super Warrior into the blue skies. Just follow their directions and you'll soon be carrier qualified.

To install:

The pbk-carrier-pz61 folder, this contains the USS Enterprise and other models.
The pbk-carrier-crew folder, this contains the deck crew trained to support the F/A-18E Super Warrior.

Please update the Super Warrior: Goto https://flightsim.to/file/23760/f-a-18-super-warrior to download the F/A-18E Super Warrior

Delete previous versions and drag them all into your community folder.

In order to use the catapult facility and arrestor wires you MUST use the F/A-18E Super Warrior, the Asobo variant is not modified for carrier work.


How to use the catapult

Start the flight on the USS Enterprise (Icao PZ61)
Ensure that launchbar switch is DISABLED (raised)
Look for the crew officer giving you guidance signals onto the catapult 
Slowly taxi to his direction following signals (left - forward - right)
When you get close to the catapult shuttle he will give you stop signal
Make full stop and ENABLE (lower) the launchbar switch
Disable parking brake and toe brakes if you engaged them
Wait until the Shooter (on your left) gives you spin up signal
Increase throttle to maximum, about 10 seconds later launch will be initiated
After you fly away about 500m from the carrier, the crew will be reset and can be used again

If you found something wrong with crew - enable > disable Launchbar switch so crew near to you will be reset to initial state

How to use arresting gear

Prepare for landing - extract gears, enable tailhook handle (right-front panel), set flaps to AUTO or HALF
Follow AOA indicator, keep airspeed around 160kn
Right before touchdown, raise pitch angle so the tailhook will catch an arrestor cable
After collision detected, you will experience deceleration (similar to reverse thrust)
After full stop arresting process will be completed.

Version 3.0 - USS Enterprise - TACAN and ILS commissioned and certified for carrier operations with the upgraded Super Warrior. Please make sure you have the very latest version of the F/A18 Super Warrior v4.4

Version 3.1 - USS Enterprise moved about 1 mile nearer to KWAL to avoid a horrible MS water glitch off the right side of the original position. Small Strike group added to keep the carrier company (my thanks to Superspud for the support) new hardware added to the flight deck

Version 3.3 - Animated Arrestor wires have been installed on the CVN-65 carrier so you will now need to hook a wire with the tail hook to stop the plane

Out of curiosity: Where does the moving ship end up?

Hi, ive been having some issues with this. when i land on the carrier, the wire stops its effect mid landing and i crash into the water. how can i fix this?

I tried this one again today with the goshawk, but although the catapult worked the crew were not issuing any instructions and the blast doors didn't animate. Pretty sure it used to work ok. Are there any plans to update, as its a pretty good mod overall?

Throttle not moving when on carrier deck,speedbrakes autoengaged. Spent few hours trying to figure out how to solve it.Of course,I am using the latest sw f18.It is 1st time that I am trying to take off from a carrier but as you can guess I did not manage to taxi the plane not even for an inch.Yes, I do have Maverick installed, no, I am not using SU 11 beta. Any advice guys?

Beautiful mod! As a Navy vet this brings back many fond memories for me. I really hope someone makes a livery for the squadron I was in eventually.

is there any interfere with world carriers addon? why only first time it's works?... it's works again... just take off from default carrier as in description. then crew catapult appear at moving aircraft carriers... btw night takeoff must be very difficult. didn't try it. because can't see ... nothing😊

well my comment was hide by anti-drug rules lol. well. 5 star and this is what i waiting for from p3d time. this is the thing. btw could you please check some. when i fly superwarrior or may be original too has this. i can not disable vlso it's reset and show it up of display and some annoy me😊 and would be cool, till milviz guys not dive us update for corsair probably with working hook. could you add some casual(optional!) hook for every birds in sim. for landing corsair on the deck i have to landing at edge of the carrier. would you?

Doesnt this mod work anymore with F-14 TOMCAT? 😞

Cause I've just came back to the game after a break, was about to shoot some videos for a movie I'm workin' on but seems like F-14 does not work anymore with these carriers.

Only f-18 works now?

This is one of the best mods i have used on MSFS (when it works) The first flight after loading the files works flawlessly in both the landing and take off animations. the next time I use the carrier there is no take off animation other than some figures shooting off the deck as if catapulted themselves. If I delete the carrier and crew from the community folder then load another flight over this area to clear any lingering parts in the cache I can then reload the same carrier and crew folders and it works brilliantly for one session only.

All my landings and take offs have been in a F18 super warrior.

Hello, I put the 2 files in my community but I have nothing in my games, how to solve the problem

Hi guys,

There's one guy left from the centerline for the catapult start ,who is not reacting to any crew resets. Any ideas to get rid of him. Do not like to taxi through him.

The mentioned AOA is that the display left from the HUD? The two arrows and the circle? Or is it the instrument popping up in the middle of the cockpit, with many possible lights, that only pops up on my side , when I lower the hook before take off?
