Heli-X Helicopter Mission Generator is a random mission generator for helicopter missions in MSFS. It generates medivac, fire, search, and rescue missions, police chases, supply pickup and delivery, passenger transport, and more. Just hop in your helicopter, press the new icon on your MSFS toolbar IN-GAME, and start your next mission!
Heli-X works in-game, even IN VR! You do not need to reference any outside source material to play, although you are welcome to integrate flight plans or external maps to assist you. Heli-X missions are randomly generated, and meant to be role-played using your imagination. The missions are given as general instructions about what the situation is, and it is up to you to interpret them and complete them to the best of your ability. And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!
At the end of each mission, you can score yourself (1-10). Evaluate yourself on how you did on all stages of the mission, including take offs, procedures, flight dynamics, and landings. You are your own judge. The app will keep track of your cumulative score each session!
I created the mission generator to give me things to do when using helicopters (right now just the H135). One of the things I'm having fun with is that it forces me to look at the ground and explore, and that I'm landing not just on heli-pads, but in places I wouldn't normally try. For example, if the situation is "injury on a football field north of downtown", I'll have to scout around for football fields, and then find a way to set down without injurying anybody (a nearby field or parking lot, for example). Or if there is an injured hiker, I might have to set down in a ravine where flat ground is hard to find.
New missions types will be added over time! Or feel free to suggest some new ones! I will also try to add sound AND a career mode!

INSTALL: To install, unzip the download, and copy the helix-custom folder to your MSFS Community folder.
IMPORTANT: Heli-X requires an internet connection to play.

I already use my imagination to perform heli operations that are currently only available with the Hype H145, with different helicopters. I use the H135 to run imaginary police operations too, so this generator isn't too useful for me personally. That said, it's a great concept, but it would be awesome to see this developed further to include specific locations and trigger zones, for that full sense of achievement.
Great idea nonetheless!

That makes sense. This was created 2 years ago before any of that stuff was available. Obviously, the paid mission generators are better. This was just for a little fun. :)))

I really wish this was more specific as to where to go. I tried this out in Oregon in the US and it said "South of mountains" there are over 500 miles of mountain ranges in Oregon.

This seems cool, but how are you supposed to find the mission targets? I started in Philadelphia and got "Ravine" for the location.

Is this still working?

Sorry. I haven't been here in awhile. Yes, the web page that runs the generator is still up and running. :)

spitfire, if you mean run it 100% locally, yes, you can do this. You can download the server-side web page, JS, images, and CSS from the frameset address found in the following file (i'm purposely not listing the address so it doesn't get scanned by bots):
[helix-folder]\html_ui\InGamePanels\CustomPanel\CustomPanel.html
Download all the files, and then you can run them locally on your own web server (make sure to change the CustomPanel.html frameset URL to match). Or feel free to make changes to the source data files if you want specific city data (that was my original intent, but it was just too unrealistic).

Not sure how it works or even find the area`s?

Hi there. Sorry I missed this. It just describes places you are looking for. It’s up to you to find them. For example, if it says “Park north of downtown”, you just have to go scout for a park north of downtown. The mod doesn’t actually find it for you. If people really like this mod, then we can probably create scripts for each city that uses real
world names and locations. But I chose a more generic approach so you could get maximum usability out of it.
